1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Shft (the “Service”), including the iOS app, desktop app, Chrome extension, and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Shft is a focus and productivity tool that blocks distracting apps and websites during user-initiated focus sessions. The Service includes features such as focus sessions, scheduling, presets, intent mode, and cross-device syncing.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use certain features of Shft. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may register up to 5 devices per account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Shft offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly, yearly, or one-time (lifetime) basis depending on the plan you choose.
On iOS, subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and billing policies. On the web, payments are processed through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. For web subscriptions, please contact us through our feedback page.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Share, resell, or redistribute your account access to others
- Circumvent any technical measures designed to enforce these terms
6. Self-Imposed Blocking
All blocking performed by Shft is self-imposed and user-initiated. You choose which apps and websites to block, when to start sessions, and for how long. Features such as Lockdown Mode, which prevents early session termination, are entirely opt-in. You acknowledge that by enabling these features, you are voluntarily restricting your own access for the duration you specify.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Shft and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that blocking will work in all circumstances. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shft and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the app or website. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Shft operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
